A large dog fox had been sleeping under an exterior garage at a client’s home in Petersfield Hampshire.

The client didn’t mind the fox’s presence too much being within the imminent vicinity of the home but despite the perils of exposed foundations and the potential costs of building repairs and underpinning.

There was also a concern of a vixen being attracted and taking up residence, making a den for the purpose of birthing a spring litter of cubs.

This warranted an encouraged relocation of the dog fox and blocking off these exposed foundations.

1. The welfare of wildlife  – A motion-activated camera was placed over the entrance of the den for a period of seven days to ensure that the space was not still being lived in.

2. Groundworks – The area was dug to a depth of 18 inches in order to make room for the work to seal this entrance.

3. Animal Proofing – In order to prevent further wildlife (Including squirrels, mice and rats) access to this void space under the garage a metallic animal-proofing mesh is applied to the entrance and set below ground level.

John came out the same day and spent time answering all my questions before treating two wasp nests in between railway sleepers that we were having difficulty treating ourselves. Looks like they have gone already after one treatment but he’ll come back if needed...perfect 😊!
